My signature design-style is the "Liquid Layout", or the ability of the website to stretch (without distorting), to fill the user's entire browser window. Also, to resize automatically when the user stretches the window.

Another early innovation was the introduction of animated backgrounds. This is still a unique effect that is not often seen. Also, dynamic style changing is a great way for visitors to select the style or "theme" to view the website in.

Specific Duties:

  • Template Design - HTML
  • Javascript Integration
  • Perl Scripts
  • PHP / MySQL Content Management Systems
  • Website Optimization
  • "Liquid Layouts"
  • Dynamic Style Changing

Before anyone knew the term "Internet", my friends and I were making graphical user interfaces for online bulletin board systems. It's hard to imagine but in those days "AOL (America Online)" was the underdog to companies like "Compuserve" and "Prodigy". As access to the Internet became more available, I dropped BBS development in lieu of HTML.
A "New-Media" Experience
Even my first website (1995) had animated button mouse-overs. Many since have included "scrollers", "marquees", "slide-shows", and video. I still like to include a little "eye-candy" when possible.

Style 1 Apocalypse (orange)

This look for my site is my personal favorite.  It suits my personality pretty well, ...during work hours.  (X)

Style #2

Style 2 Stones (burgundy)

Have a nice glass of wine someplace historic.  There's nothing better on a nice sunny day.  (X)

Style #3

Style 3 Diamond Plate (slate)

Tough & Reliable, ...with a no-stick surface.  If you want it to last, do it right.  (X)

Style #4

Style 4 Fire (red)

Loud and obnoxious style.  Let this be a tribute to all those who fight our California wildfires.  (X)

Style #5

Style 5 Wood (brown)

Nice warm Earth-tones, ...ahhhh.  Promotes a sence of peace and security.  (X)

Style #6

Style 6 Nature (green)

A theme to remind us of great things in nature.  Reminds me of early morning mountains in the Northwest.  (X)

Style #7

Style 7 Barney (purple)

Here's one for the kids.  These colors have always been popular with young people.  (X)

Style #8

Style 8 Surf & Sky (blue)

Inspired by Southern California "surf culture".  It suits me on the weekend during the summer.  (X)

Style #9

Style 9 Rusty (teal)

Salty-air smells great, ...but eats metal.  Sometimes that's the price we pay on the coast.  (X)
